Yvonne Saunders

Yvonne trains many students for teaching qualifications in all grades from Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship, in Ballroom, Latin American, Classical Sequence and Freestyle. The question most often asked by students is 'How long will it take to complete the course?' This depends entirely upon how much work the student will put into the study programme.

Yvonne's work is to prepare the candidate by detailed teaching, explanation and advice. To expand the candidate's knowledge and ability to understand the basic principles and apply this to technique. To understand the reason 'why' is a fundamental factor in the training schedule. Finally it is the candidate who takes the examination and he or she must be able to apply their training so preparation is vitally important.

Yvonne's experience and knowledge is not only confined to the UK. She has been invited to many countries to teach and give lectures. For 26 years Yvonne has had a strong association with Finland. In particular the Polytechnic in Oulu, Northern Finland, of which Yvonne is frequently invited to examine their students as part of their assessment during their four year degree course in Dance. She has worked in the Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey assisting the students with developing a dance programme, as Ballroom and Latin is a new development there.

Her aim is always to try and encourage the promotion of dance no matter where, whether at home in England or overseas.
